Three Ways Our Wedding would be Different
Being a wedding photographer is one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced. Meeting kind-hearted couples, journeying along side them and through their wedding day, meeting their families, hearing their engagement story, seeing their vision come to life with flowers, details, dresses, and bow ties. It's quite the adventure! And we LOVE it!
I met with a couple on Saturday morning, and the bride asked me how many weddings we've shot. We have had the joy of photographing 17 weddings since Katelynn Dow Photography started! Those 17 brides have all had different tastes, interests, and aesthetic desires for their weddings!
So I got to thinking (hello Pinterest boards!), "what would I change if Michael and I were to get married now?" This is in no way regretting our wedding day! In my eyes, it was perfect! We had such a gorgeous day and were surrounded by the people we love most. God was so gracious to provide as He did and still is in our marriage!
Here are three changes that I would make!
1. Fresh florals
I carried a bouquet of fake (yes....fake) hydrangeas surrounded by baby's breath. My lovely bridesmaids carried only baby's breath. I would have my bestie Kayla (Rose and Honey Floral) make me a lush and loose bouquet filled with lots of greenery and subtle color!
2. Invitation Suite
I ordered my invitations online, had our guests RSVP through our wedding website, and more than likely had white envelopes with a white address label. I currently am a manager at a store that specializes in wedding invitations, so I would definitely go back and pick an actual suite! Something neutral, mint (of course), and with delicate greenery sketched on it. I would invest in a calligrapher too!
I can't really believe I'm saying this, but I think I would've added dancing to our reception! At the time I was "against it" since I don't like to dance, but I never once thought about what our sweet guests would want!
Memories I will cherish forever:
